Ripped along the top, the Woman of Saas-Fee tells a well traveled story. I created her on a mountain top in Switzerland using a 1980’s art book found in a cottage while I was staying in Saas-Fee. I was there in July to study Expressive Arts and the wildflowers bloomed everywhere even though it was unseasonably cold. Her gaze sees past you deep into the mountain forests, her backdrop a reflection of the blue glacier. There is some magic that happens there where the mountain seems to move closer as the sunsets and the twinkling lights of Saas start to glow in the valleys beneath. I kept her as a companion all summer and traveled with her on buses, trains and planes down the mountain of Saas-Fee, back to Milan and finally returning to San Diego. She is well-loved and will bring a strong aura to any collector.
